Part of "OWL RIDDIM" digital album and LP!
Coming soon...
Lion Pow is a project conceived roughly a year ago during the first lockdown in Kiuppo’s home studio, where after having created the basic music arrangements and written the chorus’ text, Kiuppo involved Thomas aka Athomos. Together they defined the arrangements and completed the lyrics for the song.
From the beginning, there has been a search for an organic sound and a project that would involve other people. Collaboration is key in creating music as different point of views coming together create an interchange of vibes and harmonies.
Several musicians have been involved in this project (Marco Pellin at the keyboard, Florian Gamper at the drum, Fabian Pichler at the guitar, Andreas Galante at the trombone, Thomas Maniacco at the trumpet and flugelhorn, Angelo Ippati as tenor saxophone and contralto).
Roots Stable Studios have recorded and mixed the track with Florian Gamper as a sound engineer. The mastering was taken care of by a veteran of the sound system scene, Nick Manasseh at The Yard Studio in London.
After a lot of hard work, the first single “Lion Pow” (Shanti Powa Records) was finally released on
reggaeville.com on 12th November, accompanied by a very original animation video created by the artist Cipuva. The single is now available on all digital stores.
On the topic of collaboration, a very significant one is the one with Michael Exodus who has taken care of the dub versions of the song which are very original. He will be also involved in the vinyl’s distribution and in it’s promotion through Exodus Oneness Promotion.
The project keeps evolving, and on the instrumental version there will be another well-known artist in the sound system scene joining in, but we can’t reveal the name yet…
The project will be completed in 2022 with the release of the vinyl copy of Lion Pow and the dub version by Michael Exodus and as well the lyrical and instrumental versions (Owl riddim) on the B-side, the latter is to give space to singers and musicians in the yard as per tradition.
